Chris Pruvey
Clinical Specialist
Chris qualified from the University of the West of England, Bristol as a physiotherapist in 2003. Until 2009, Chris worked within NHS musculoskeletal services focusing on physical exercise rehabilitation for musculoskeletal pain conditions as well as hospital orthopaedic clinics alongside consultant orthopaedic surgeons.
Following his masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine, Chris has worked overseeing NHS musculoskeletal services in a triage capacity involving assessing, managing imaging and blood referrals for diagnostic purposes. A further large part of Chris’ role over the last decade has been performing musculoskeletal injections.
Following the completion of his formal musculoskeletal ultrasound qualification, Chris provides a One-Stop diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound guided injection service for joint and tendon pain disorders.
He currently splits his time between NHS ultrasound imaging department work as well as seeing private patients where he is able to diagnose pain conditions and provide various forms of image guided injections with on-site ultrasound scanning.
Following this he returned to academia at the University of Hertfordshire, teaching on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, leading pain teaching and supervising research with a number of resulting publications. In 2015 he left the University returning to clinical practice with his last post working as a First Contact Practitioner / Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner in GP practices in Fleet.
Paul has a wide range of interests, having practised and taught for several years t’ai chi and self defence in the past and also enjoys cuban salsa and bachata dancing, combining his liking for latin music and movement
