Pippa Rollitt
Co-Director & Chartered Physiotherapist
Pippa graduated from Cardiff School of Physiotherapy in 1992 and furthered her training through post graduate course work in manipulative physiotherapy and acupuncture, sports rehabilitation and return to sport testing. After working in the NHS, she has now been in private practice for almost 30 years, some time within a private hospital and since 1998 with Richmond physiotherapy.
She has mixed this private practice clinic-based work with extensive work in rugby and 8 years with Team GB as lead physio with British Judo working with junior and senior squads to European and World Championships, Commonwealth Games and through 2 Olympic games cycles. This incredible experience has developed a skill set to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals – understanding the struggles they face juggling personal and work life stresses whilst striving for success to return to their sports arenas.
She firmly believes that teamwork is essential for great patient outcomes. Since becoming Co-director in 2012, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the Richmond Physiotherapy team. She has also developed a broad network of medical contacts, which enables her to facilitate specialist referrals and organise collaborative treatment plans for complex cases. This approach has allowed patients to access a wider range of expertise and support, making their rehabilitation journeys more thorough and effective.
Pippa specialises in the treatment of sports injuries alongside many musculoskeletal injuries in upper and lower limb. Her patient case load spans the age groups in clinic facing all types of injuries. As sport pathways for the adolescent athlete become more available to this population injury prevention patterns are of great interest to Pippa and she has been keen to grow this education and this is more of her focus for the coming years.
Alongside her private practice she helps behind the scenes running the physiotherapy service at Rosslyn Park Rugby Club. After 20 seasons with the 1st XV and the teams throughout the club it was time to step back from the intensity of this and start grabbing some other opportunities at weekends.
Pippa runs our ‘back class something that has become a bit of community linking local patients through exercise, smiles and post class tea! This class has run for more than 25 years and we need to do more of them now as Pippa’s classes are a bit full and hard to get into!
Away from work Pippa enjoys time walking the dog, fair weather cycling, some running and gym work, gardening (although very much a novice!) cooking and time in the mountains in the summer hiking and attempting to cycle up them whilst her other half, Matt, breezes up and down them with glee… !
