Paediatric Physiotherapy: Support for Your Child’s Movement and Development

Are you concerned about your child’s motor skills, unsure if their development is on track, or  simply tired of endless milestone checklists? Maybe your child struggles with PE lessons,  complains of aches or pain, has posture or balance issues, or seems uncomfortable moving in  everyday activities. Whatever the reason, you don’t need to have all the answers — a specialist  paediatric physiotherapy assessment can provide reassurance, clarity, and a practical plan  tailored to your child.

How Physiotherapy Can Help

Paediatric physiotherapy can support children who:

• Have delayed gross motor development (rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, walking) • Struggle with balance, coordination, or frequent trips and falls

• Walk on tiptoes or have unusual movement patterns

• Complain of pain or stiffness affecting daily activities, school, or sport • Show posture concerns, back or neck pain

• Have infant orthopaedic concerns such as torticollis, plagiocephaly, or hip dysplasia

Even if you’re unsure whether your child’s development is “typical,” a physiotherapy assessment  can identify concerns early, provide reassurance, and give a clear, practical plan.

What Happens in an Appointment

A typical paediatric physiotherapy appointment is 45–60 minutes and includes: • Assessment of movement, posture, strength, and coordination

• Observation of functional skills such as balance, transitions, and play • Discussion with parents about concerns, goals, and daily routines

• Treatment and exercises tailored to your child’s age, abilities, and lifestyle • Guidance for home exercises and activity support

The goal is to make sessions engaging, age-appropriate, and practical, so progress continues  beyond the clinic.

Our Approach

We focus on child-friendly, evidence-based, and family-centred care. Every plan is: • Individualised to your child’s needs and goals

• Designed to be practical and achievable at home • Focused on building both movement skills and confidence

Through an evidence-based, fun, individualised approach, we help your child reach their full  potential.

Appointments

We currently offer clinic-based paediatric physiotherapy appointments on Saturdays, making it  easier for families to access expert support.
