Pilates is a method of exercise designed to help improve your body awareness, movement, and fitness with a blend of mobility, strength, balance, breathing and coordination training. Our clinical Pilates sessions are physiotherapist lead, meaning that they will be tailed specifically to your personal needs and goals, whether that be rehabilitation post-operatively, ante/post-natal, or if you are looking to improve your running or athletic performance and reduce risk of injury.
We offer clinical Pilates 1:1 sessions and small group classes, which are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Our classes our taught in a fun yet effective way to challenge your body and improve muscle imbalances, postural control and functional movement.
Mat Classes: aimed to incorporate all elements of Pilates to strengthen and challenge the body. Exercises will be modified to ensure they are the right level for you.
Ante and Post Natal: aimed to strengthen the body from the inside out, focusing on the pelvis, trunk, back and pelvic floor to prevent back and pelvic girdle pain, as well as pelvic floor dysfunction during your pregnancy and after birth.
Strength for Sport: More advanced mat class with small equipment (weights, balls, foam roller, Pilates circle) with the aim to strengthen muscle endurance, single leg strength and stability to improve athletic performance and risk of injury.
We recommend an initial 1:1 session which will include a discussion of your lifestyle and goals and an assessment of your movement. Our physiotherapist can then build a specific program around you and your goals and recommend the best plan for you. This way we can ensure that you are always working to your own individual needs and benefitting from each session with the aim to feel happier, fitter and energised.
