Why do runners need Pilates?
Jess is a keen runner with Belgrave Harriers AC. She has a Masters in physiotherapy and a Sport & Exercise Science degree from Loughbourough. Find out why Jess advocates Pilates for runners, incorporating strength and conditioning into your program to diminish the risk of injury and to let you run faster and smoother.
Biomechanics & Velocity
Understanding your biomechanics can highlight those hidden dodgy movement patterns which can lead to injury. Stephen will show you how improving your co-ordination, flexibility, and technique lets you run efficiently and achieve your potential. With fifteen solid years of practice Stephen has built up a thorough understanding of the complexity of running injuries. He works with runners of all levels and believes the principle is always the same: to better understand your body, how it moves and what it can do.
Assessing the injury risk
Joe has a first class honours degree in physiotherapy and is completing his Masters in Neuro musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He works with elite, amateur and novice athletes and. He will explain the key components of physiotherapy assessment specific to running. This shows how specific findings contribute to an individual’s injury prevention and management.

In her practice Sarah uses state-of-the art nutri-genetic testing with digestive analysis to allow her clients a deeper insight into their nutritional requirements. Sarah is registered with BANT (the UK’s professional body for Nutritional Therapists and CNHC) – the government’s voluntary register for complementary healthcare practitioners.
Ben Webeck, ABCpure
Running Order: what should your programme include?
Ben is an elite triathlete and coach; no surprise then that his own training company, ABCpure, has become so successful. Competing for 15 years and specialising in Ironman, he has achieved impressive performances over the past few years at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships and the Ironman World Championships in Kona.
Ben performs at the highest age matched level with multiple sub 9hr results including a sub 3hr marathon. As a coach he supports a range of athletes from beginner to elite, covering all distances from sprint to Ironman. Single discipline athletes also track him down, particularly runners – leading them to numerous PB’s including those much coveted sub 3 hour marathons.
