Yoshiko has outstanding massage and soft tissue treatment skills, we are very fortunate to be able to offer her services to Richmond Physiotherapy clients.
At Richmond Physiotherapy, Yoshiko specializes in Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage. She works with runners, cyclists, tennis players, dancers, musicians and martial artists… as well as many people with non-sport related issues like occupational, emotional and postural stress. Recently she has been seeing clients with repetitive strain injury (RSI) otherwise known as work related upper limb disorder (WRULD) a massage every fortnight to three or four weeks can be beneficial and cost effective in terms of maintenance.
She also provides Head massage for clients who suffer from tension headaches and tight neck related to posture, using the computer, stress, TMJ, insomnia, etc. This helps to release tension, ease migraine and headache pain, reduce stress and promote relaxation.
Yoshiko has a special interest in massage during pregnancy: gentle and safe, provided in comfortable positions so that expectant mothers can feel the benefits of a relaxing, calming and soothing massage in a safe and supportive environment.
She also has a special interest in Oncology Massage and Lymphatic Drainage Massage (except for those with Lymphedema).
Yoshiko qualified as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist from the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) and has a 2nd degree black belt in Aikido.
In Japan, Yoshiko qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1999, followed by hospital practice at the Acute Brain Surgery Hospital, the Orthopaedic Department (General Hospital) and the Day Care for the Elderly Hospital.
