Marguerite Van Boetzelaer
Marguerite has been a teacher of the Alexander Technique for over 15 years and is a member of the Society of teachers of the Alexander Technique. She has had her own successfull practice since 1993. She then finished her 3 year training in the Feldenkrais Method to further help people increase their awareness through Movement. Both techniques offer a readucation of posture and movement, habits that get in the way of an ease in movement.
She was also one of the first Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioners in the UK (1 of 10).Jin Shin jyutsu is incredibly non-invasive, a physio - philosophy, and could be compared to accupuncture without needles. Stress reducing and vitality boosting.
Marguerite has worked along side physiotherapists as well as speech therapists in several central London Hospitals, including: The Chelsea and Westminster hospital, Charing Cross and Cromwell hospital.
Apart from having worked with professional musicians and performers, which included voice training and postural and relaxation methods, her passion is for horse riding. She has taught riders with their horses in some cases to improve their performance. The NHS has done a recent research programme on chronic back problems. The BMJ published their article recently explaining how valuable the Alexander Technique was as a preventative as well as a self help tool and recommended. She has made further office visits to address the use of office equipment to prevent ‘bad postural habits’ from developing into chronic problems. Children can be taught too and can benefit from a few lessons to prevent ‘bad posture’ from developing.
