Amanda Owens
Amanda is a fully Qualified BASES Sport Psychologist (Scientific Support), she is on the British Olympic Association (BOA) advisory panel and has over 12 years working with Olympic, Professional and World Class athletes and teams. Amanda is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and a Sessional Lecturer in sport psychology at London Southbank University and Birkbeck College (UCL); She is also a qualified Humanistic and Gestalt counsellor. Amanda currently works with Professional and International Cricketers, GB Skiers, International and GB Tennis players, Professional Golfers, Divers, GB Swimmers, Rowers and International Rugby players. Amanda is the Surrey CCC First Team consultant sport psychologist and formerly was the Essex CCC First Team sport psychologist and in season 2001-2002 the Southampton FC sport psychologist when they were in the premiership with Gordon Strachan. Amanda’s specialist areas are: Overtraining Syndrome (UUPS), underperformance, the psychology of injury and the relationship between mood and performance.
