Simon Ashton is a Musculoskeletal Consultant Physiotherapist at Whipps Cross University Hospital NHS Trust in North East London. He has been in this role since 2004 working closely with medical consultants specifically in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology.

Simon holds a visiting Fellowship with London South Bank University where he has been involved in the development and delivery of Masters Level units of study for postgraduate Physiotherapists,
including the role of the Extended Scope Practitioner/ Consultant Physiotherapist.

Simon is Clinical Director of Cancer and Clinical Support Services at Whipps Cross Hospital. This involves leading the medical staff in the Directorate, as well as overall responsibility for 700 staff and a budget of circa £38 million.

Simon qualified at Brighton University with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and has a Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy which he achieved with a distinction in the research element. He is a member of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and the Medico-legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. He has managed to fit in an element of private practice alongside his substantial NHS commitments and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences in the specialist clinical field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Kate Sheehy has been acting as an expert witness since 1994 when she attended Bond Solon’s first training event for physiotherapists at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Kate runs a group clinical practice in Richmond, Surrey where the aim is to demonstrate the benefits and value of good quality musculo skeletal physiotherapy in a high street setting.

Originally trained at Addenborooke’s Hospital School of Physiotherapy Kate also holds a post graduate diploma in manipulative physiotherapy from the prestigious Curtin University in Perth, West Australia. She has served on the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists’ Executive Committee, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Professional Practice Committee and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Quality Assurance Working Party.

Currently Kate is an executive member of the Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and provides training for physiotherapists in the role of the expert witness.

Over the years she has regularly provided opinion on professional practice issues, clinical negligence in musculo skeletal physiotherapy and personal injury.

Kate has a strong network of physiotherapy experts and recognises the importance of getting the right clinical expertise with the best report writing skills for every report. If she recommends another physiotherapy expert then she does not do so lightly and will endeavour to assist and support wherever possible to ensure that quality is delivered.
